My name is Rod Dent. I have been painting architecture for 23 years.
After an extensive apprenticeship with the world-renowned illustrator Andrew H. King and another with Steven S. Fuller of Design Traditions Atlanta, I moved to the coast of Northwest Florida in 1991 and opened Architectural Art. We have since done thousands of illustrations for many of the countries top designers and developers.

As an ‘old school’ painter in the new millennium, our transition to computer aided imaging was both challenging and rewarding. As ‘digital’ renderings have become commonplace in the industry these days, our goal has always been to focus on retaining an original watercolor presentation. The digital medium has afforded us the versatility to expand and enhance our product line, while maintaining the timeless character of an actual watercolor painting.

Our hybrid renderings are not built with computerized watercolor filters but are actually a combination of hand painted elements that are scanned into the computer and compiled in our extensive database. With the computer, we seamlessly composite these elements together into a final rendering  allowing us the ability to change the colors, textures, materials and design elements with relative ease….compared to a actual painting.
Our options to create many different ‘products’ from the original rendering are endless.

With this technique, we are also able to produce large volumes of renderings in a relatively short time. Each rendering is previewed via email at several different stages of the process to avoid any last minute surprises.

Our turnaround time depends on the number of renderings that are needed, and what is currently on the schedule at any given time.
